Eva Bee

It’s only natural that the lead singer’s name has something bee related…

“Hi! I’m Eva, lead singer of Honeytones. I fell in love with singing from a very young age, as I grew up with music all around me. My parents have always encouraged and deepened my passion for music; I can’t imagine it without it. I have been singing for as long as I can remember. I grew up in North Lake Tahoe and got my start as a vocalist in local youth theatre programs. Once I got into middle school, I joined the concert band as a percussionist, then as a clarinetist, and was also in jazz band where I played alto saxophone. Once I got into high school, I started writing my own music and created an album my senior year. Since then, I have grown so much as a songwriter and a singer. I strongly love jazz and soul, and those genres inspire me as a vocalist. A few of the biggest artists who have influenced and inspired me are Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, and SZA.

As I have come to the end of my journey pursuing my music degree at Grossmont College, I have been able to use what I’ve learned here and incorporate it into my art. For me, the most important part about being an artist is having passion, enjoying what you’re doing, constantly striving to learn more, and being the best you can be. Honeytones formed from a group of pals from Grossmont just getting together and playing good music and having fun, and I love being a part of this group. These people inspire me and push me to become a better musician, and with all our power combined who knows what we are capable of. Honeytones forever!”
